Bantry Bookshop hosts Jennifer Russell and works from Grey Hen Press , November 16 at 2pm On Saturday November 16th at 2pm, Bantry Bookshop is delighted to welcome back renowned West Cork poet Jennifer Russell, hosting a poetry reading with works from Grey Hen Press. Born in Bantry and living on the Beara Peninsula, Jennifer set up and co-runs Hungry Hill Writing, a writers’ group which hosts two international poetry competitions a year. She has been published in a number of poetry journals and anthologies and is also an accomplished playwright. Hen Run, an imprint of Grey Hen Press in the UK, published a collection of Jennifer’s poems – Backlit – in January 2019. Grey Hen Press specializes in works that give a voice to the experiences, observations and insights of older women. The aim of the press is to share new and exciting works by older women writers whose voices are not always captured in mainstream publishing. These are works that gleam with humour, style, resilience and wit.
